| The Academy of Opera is part of the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO). It is situated in a 19th century converted sail factory in the heart of Oslo. While being a student at the Opera Academy you will have unlimited access to its outstanding facilities and resources, which include: 8 stages 1 main stage with an orchestra pit 12 practice rooms with pianos, available 7 days a week1 full production a year at the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet 100+ hours of acting and movement training per year2 singing lessons per week2 individual coachings per week Audition, language and mental trainingAdvanced operatic training with internationally acclaimed opera stage directors such as Stefan Herheim, Jacopo Spirei and conductor Gregor BühlGuest coaches and professors: Fiona MacSherry (UK), Giulio Zappa (IT), John Lidal(NO), Ebbe Knudsen (DK), Roberto Scaltriti (IT), Eva Blahova (SK), Audun Iversen (NO), Florian Plock (DE) Damiana Pinti (IT) Vocal and music faculty includes: Toril Carlsen, Solveig Kringlebotn, Yngve Søberg, Frode Olsen, Olesya Tutova, Luca De Marchi, Markus Kvits, Ole Jørgen Kristiansen, Ingebjørg Kosmo, Magnus Staveland We offer a one-year programme and a 2-year Master’s programme. Each year has a maximum of 8 students. During your studies, you will perform in several concerts and stage productions attended by agents and artistic directors. You will be provided with professional video recordings that you can use to apply for opera studios and agencies. You will have the opportunity to audition for the solistpraktikant programme at the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet.
